London School of Business and Management, working together with Semestry Ltd

June 9th

John Fairhurst Managing Director & Academic Principal at the London School of Business and Management has been speaking with us about their experience with Semestry and TermTime.

A little background on LSBM.

The London School of Business and Management is a specialist institution in Bloomsbury, the academic heart of London. They deliver full-time undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Business, Accounting and Finance, and Law that are awarded by the University of Northampton.

The student body is culturally diverse and dynamic. Students are at the heart of LSBM’s decision making processes, ensuring student representation on academic committees through the Student Academic Representative system.

John Fairhurst

When we undertook the process to find the right supplier for our scheduling needs, we wanted to ensure that we put our students and staff at the centre of what we wanted to achieve. We had a very challenging set of timescales to meet and we needed a supplier that would be responsive to our requirements. To add to the challenge, we were not only replacing our scheduling system, but implementing a new attendance monitoring system and reconfiguring our student record system.

We selected Semestry and their Cloud based scheduling solution, TermTime, because of their willingness to engage, listen and respond to our requirements. TermTime has proved itself to be a highly flexible, innovative and robust solution for us. In addition to a great scheduling experience, it was important that we had a partner in this process, not just a software supplier. In Semestry, we feel we have just that. When things on occasion did not go to plan, Semestry would find a solution and respond to our issues in a positive and professional manner. No project that is as demanding as ours will ever be plain sailing, but with the right partner, any problems can be successfully navigated.

Today, all of our staff and students can easily access their calendars and be rapidly notified of any changes by email or those last minute changes by SMS, and, even better, we have experienced 100% uptime of the service from Semestry.

We are looking forward to continuing to build our partnership with Semestry as we look forward to a range of exciting new developments over the coming months. I have no doubt these enhancements will support us in our mission to continuously improve our services to students and staff.

TermTime integrates with Osiris from CACI in time for the HO-Link conference

June 7th, 2016

With more than 60 employees, the CACI Netherlands is a center of knowledge and experience in the area of student information for higher education and the Dutch market leader in this field.
Semestry and CACI have worked together to integrate both product lines – Osiris and TermTime. As a first stage in this integration process, the Osiris Link was used to connect directly with the TermTime API (application programming interface) to manage and transfer curriculum reference data between both systems.
The streamlined link between Osiris and TermTime allows curriculum timetable reference data to be loaded, changed and managed directly from the student information system. This provides improved efficiencies with consistent data transfers in a secure environment. A perfect solution for the initial loading of reference data or managing any subsequent changes to the student information as they happen.
CACI and Semestry will be available to discuss the integration of their product lines at the HO-Link conference in Noordwijkerhout on June 16 and 17, 2016.
Come and hear more about Osiris and TermTime by visiting the CACI stand or by visiting Semestry at the Simac stand, where we look forward to meeting you and hearing your plans for preparing for the future of education.

Semestry is attending the HO-Link Conference exhibition.

June 7th 2016

holink_logoThe HO-Link Conference is being held at Noordwijkerhout in The Netherlands on Thursday and Friday, June 16th and 17th, 2016. The conference this year focusses on the theme ‘Be prepared’ covering developments that have a major impact on the future of education.

Semestry will be showcasing TermTime, the cloud service for generating and maintaining teaching timetables for universities and colleges. As well as a range of scheduling tools, TermTime has numerous complimentary features such as self-service room booking, student and staff portals, integration with student information systems and multi-channel communications capabilities to ensure staff and students are kept updated with any changes in real time.

In addition to being able to view and discuss the wide ranging feature set of TermTime, Leon Smith – our Director of Services, will be presenting a paper on partnership development with Szilvia Zsoldos from Hotelschool The Hague.

The presentation ‘Preparing through partnership’ will seek to show that good tools are half the job. Consequently, facilitating the changing needs of Higher Education is a challenge for both the Institutions and their suppliers. How can a supplier make sure that they create the right products and services to meet the needs of the Dutch HE sector? How can Institutions contribute to the creation of such products?

Come and see us on the Simac stand at the exhibition, where we look forward to meeting you and hearing your plans for preparing for the future of education.
